About
Invisible key worker
This series of pencil illustrations aims to capture the life of an NHS worker beyond the hospital ward.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, I felt compelled to highlight how NHS staff are often seen only as
service providers, with little recognition of their personal experiences and emotions.
These illustrations portray an NHS worker engaged in everyday activities, offering a more honest, human view of their lives beyond the uniform. The work invites us to see them not just for the roles they perform, but as individuals with stories, struggles, and lives of their own.
